NOTE: All our Centennial Community Service Projects are open to OA MEMBERS from ALL DISTRICTS.  Multiple service projects are needed if you are working towards your Centennial Award. The three projects will geographically cover all three districts. This project targets the Cacoosing District area.

Location: Blue Marsh Lake - Dry Brooks Day Use Area (Main Entrance for beach, etc.).

Date: Saturday, October 23, 2021
Time: 9am-3pm (tentative times, check back as we get closer to project)
Check in no later than 15 minutes prior to start of project (8:45am)
NOTE: If you are being dropped off, be sure someone can pick you up when we work has been completed.

Project: A garden bed area that is quite worse for wear by our concession stand near the beach. This is a high visibility area and is need of an update. The project would consist of cleaning up the existing bed from weeds, removing some bushes and ground cover that are not beneficial, moving rocks, edging out the bed, helping spread a new layer of top soil, planting new beneficial plants, and spreading mulch. We can also have a few people stain our privacy screens and paint sign posts to give everything a fresh coat.

Tools needed: Garden rake, lawn rake, loppers, pruners, trimmers, brush saws, shovel, painting supplies, etc.

Personal Items needed: You are responsible for your own lunch. Bring filled water bottle, gloves, eye protection, clothing that can get dirty or get paint on them, sun screen, bug repellant, hat, sun glasses, a small personal first aid kit (like if you were on a day hike).

NOTE: Please bring a copy of your current BSA Medical Form (Part A-B) to participate.
